I Can't Decide! Please Help!
Posted by: Ella
After agonizing over 60+ fantastic layout submissions based on last week's sketch, we could only narrow it down to ten. (Hence the late-night blog post.) So, we decided to share all the finalists and allow YOU to vote for our winning layouts. Thanks for the suggestion, ScrapperAnn! I'll keep the designers' names secret for now so that you can vote solely on the merits of the layouts. But please don't place your vote based on the quality of the layout scan. We're sure they're all straight and perfect in real life.
To vote, leave a comment that lists nothing more than the number of your vote, and please only vote for one layout. Example: I vote for #11! (Except that there's NOT a #11, so don't vote for it. We didn't want to bias anyone by including a real number in our example.) Deadline for voting:
Thursday, October 29 by midnight Eastern time. We'll count them up and pick our eBook contributors based on your votes.
Here's the sketch:

Finalist #1: Sports Day (a very literal version of the sketch)

Finalist #2: Hay Time (very literal translation, two tiny extra photos added)

Finalist #3: Sugar on Snow (four small horizontal photos replaced with four vertical photos, patterned paper added to fill the gap)

Finalist #4: Granddaughters (large vertical photo replaced with horizontal photo and title)

Finalist #5: Pony Boy (four-photo block adapted to fit five photos)

Finalist #6: All-Star Slugger (four-photo block adapted to fit six photos)

Finalist #7: Love Life (two of the small photos replaced by colorful journaling blocks)

Finalist #8: Makin' a Splash (design expanded to an 8½ x 11 spread)

Finalist #9: Sweet Pumpkin (sketch rotated to use one horizontal and four vertical photos)

Finalist #10: KaleidoScoops (sketch rotated to fit one horizontal and four vertical photos)

(Important note: winners, you'll only have one week to complete your eBook assignment after you're chosen, so if that's not enough time for you, we'll pick the layout with the next most votes! In the event of a 10-way tie, the winners will be chosen by the Ella editors, and then we'll wonder why we allowed reader voting in the first place!)
