Wednesday Giveaway: Studio Calico + Ella

Did you see? Ella's newest eBook is now up for sale! You are among the very first to know about it...word has been leaking out little by little, and the word is that it's AWESOME!

In Eight is Enough: Easy ways to stretch supplies and use leftovers, we partnered with Studio Calico (and five of their talented design-team members) to show you awesome tips and tricks for saving cash and using up your stash!

You see, design-team members typically have the goal of creating layouts that show off all the amazing products that come in that product line or kit. And Studio Calico designers are no exception. The goal is to show off the wealth of supplies you get in the kit. (And I can attest that Studio Calico kits are PACKED with goodies; there's seriously a lot of beautifully coordinated bang for your buck, especially considering what you'd pay to buy all the items separately.)

Wendy and I wondered what would happen if we asked those SAME designers to try to create four layouts with just eight supplies total. We wanted to see them stretch their creativity and their supplies. And we told them they had to pull these supplies from their stash of extras and leftovers (specifically, their extras and leftovers from past Studio Calico kits).

We were amazed at how beautifully diverse their designs were! And we know you will be too. This book is a definite must-read. Here's the feedback we're getting so far:
"Love Love Love Love Love the new eBook - it just might be my favorite one yet!" ~Katie Scott
"I couldn't believe how FULL it was. I'm so impressed with all the layouts and how many incredible tips are inside!"~Rachel Gainer
"It looks PHENOMENAL...I'm so proud to be a part of it!! xoxoxo" ~Stephanie Howell

The Giveaway

Now for the fun stuff! To enter, leave us a comment sharing your favorite memory from Eight is Enough the television show, if you remember back that far! (Note: "I liked Willie Ames WAY better in Charles in Charge" or "I've never even heard of that show!" both count as acceptable comments.)

We'll pick TWO winners. One will receive a free copy of this stunning new eBook, and the other will win Studio Calico's upcoming July kit, called "Continental"! Here's a sneak peek. Visit Studio Calico's website for more info or to join the kit club. (Note: if you're intrigued by this kit, it's best to place your order SOON. Their kits have a tendency to sell out if you don't act fast.)

Let's hear it!

(p.s. Wondering about the winner from last week's Making Memories contest? It was commenter #190, harrisonquilter, who is looking forward to some sunshine and waves after a tough couple of months. Well, here's a teeny tiny ray of sunshine for you!)

The book is pretty fab. I love the concept, and I love the execution. The layouts were very fresh, inspiring, and fun! Way to go Ella + Studio Calico.

I am a 1970s TV/pop culture eejit, though I vaguely remember that someone might have had some sort of bowl hair cut. : ) Always thrilled to enter a Studio Calico giveaway... that looks like a terrific book!
I don't really remember watching this show...is that the one where they all made a pyramid in the opening credits??? Anyway, I had to jump in for the chance at these great giveaways!!!!!!!!!
I guess I'm too young, I don't remember that show! The book looks great, and the Studio Calico kit looks awesome too!

I remember the show because we watched it as a family, but no specific favorites for some reason. Tough choice between Studio Calico and a new e-Book, either one's a winner.
That show did not air on the one channel we got on our 13" black and white tv when I was young... :-)
I was madly in love with Willie Ames when this show was on the air. Loved his curly hair.
I was going to say the show did not air in Brazil... but I was actually in the US at that time. So I guess I'll just say that was not a show my 5 year-old self cared about...

"Eight Is Enough" was a fave and definitely "must-see TV" back then, but it was also the source of a lot of conflicting feelings for me: Would I want to be from a large family like that, or was I glad, ultimately, that I wasn't and didn't have to share a room with my meddling sister(s)? Would I rather be Tommy's (the character Willie Aames played) girlfriend or his sister? And if girlfriend, who was cuter--Tommy or David? So many decisions for this then-young teenaged girl! LOL
Gosh, I barely remember 8 is enough the show - I just remember it being more like real life and I liked that. I would love a copy of this book since Continental is already coming my way - the book would help me use the kit best!
I loved when Susan fell for Merl the Pearl. I was young, so the wedding episodes appealed to my preteen fan girl.
My favorite character was Susan...if I had had a sister, I'd want her to be like Susan. :)
I'm aware of the show's existence, but it predated me...so no actual memories! The book and kit both look awesome, though!!
What a great concept! Unfortunately, I've never heard of that show....but I love Ella & Studio Calico!!!
My favoritest design team girls...making layouts with my favoritest kit leftovers? yes please :) This book looks fab!! no memories of 8 is enough....but i WAS a fan of charles in charge ;)
What I remember most about Eight is Enough was that living in California in a big family (and big house) was portrayed as so cool; it never rains in Southern California! Who wouldn't want to be in their family? David (Grant Goodeve) was so cute and Mary (Lani O'Grady) was so sure of herself. Thanks for the trip back to the late 70s! And for a chance to win the kit or the adorable new eBook.
I totally watched that show...but for the life of me I can't remember any specifics. I always thought it was cool that the older sisters shared a room (that's right, right?) because I only had a younger brother. And when Willie Ames character had his own little apartment...weird how I only remember random things like that!
yep, put me in the too young to know what that is category. but the book looks awesome!
I guess I wasn't watching TV when Eight is Enough, but I really love the kit!

I remember that the show existed, but never watched it. Did I miss out on a lot?
Wait... There was a show called that?!
I loved this show! Remember Auntie V? She had a great way of causing havoc in the family. I seem to remember her even buying the family a new house.
I can remember how saddened I was when the first "mother" left the show and found out that she had died and left Vinnie Barbarella (Jon Travolta) in mourning. I couldn't watch the show for the first few times that the new mother-figure was on.
So I'm a bit too young to remember the show (gosh, I'm 32 - wouldn't consider myself young any more!) but Grant Goodeve is local to Seattle, and makes several appearances around the area. :) {I know, it's a stretch!}
I remember that show well. The one scene I remember well was the chopped liver scene - trying to make chopped liver for a Jewish boyfriend and the daughter made it from scratch with beef liver. Then finding the boyfriend wasn't kosher anyway - and it should have been made with chicken liver. ;- ) I kept thinking, why doesn't she just go to a kosher deli or the grocery store and buy it like we do?
I have some vague memories from the show - the moment that popped into my head was the episode where Tommy found a Christmas gift that his late mom had hidden away in a cabinet. Soo sad, I'm sure I must have cried myself to sleep that night! I remember 1)Mary, 2)Susan, 3)Joanie, 4)David, 5)Tommy. Abby was the step mom.... and I think Ralph Macchio (aka original Karate Kid) joined the cast as a cousin.
I remember watching the show but the only thing that stands out is the fact that I watched it. THanks for the chance to win!
I just remember that the youngest guy and the dad ... wasn't his name Adam (the youngest character). Shows you how much I actually remember. We did not get to watch a lot of TV since we did not have cable. That new book looks great! Amy :)
I can just about remember the opening credits and the little kid with the 70s bowl cut hair style -- that's about it. Thanks for the chance at the giveaway.
I remember the TV show but nothing stands out other than most of the kids were teenagers and were always on the go everywhere. You would have thought it was shot during this generation.
